Emmerdale's Manpreet to be rocked by Gabby discoveries as concern grows

Emmerdale's Manpreet Sharma makes a worrying discovery next week, as Gabby Thomas's ongoing issues with food continue to impact her health and her livelihood.

When Gabby coughs up blood, Manpreet realises that her so-called healthy habits have developed into something more serious.

As Manpreet tries to intervene, will Gabby listen to her advice?

"The content Gabby's consuming online is incredibly dangerous," points out our Emmerdale source. "The algorithm is pushing her towards conspiracy theories about health and organic food.

"Gabby's become fixated to an unhealthy extreme, even doubting medical recommendations…"

When Gabby's cough is diagnosed as bronchitis, she's sceptical about taking the antibiotics Manpreet has prescribed.

But her obsession with toxins and only consuming organic goods isn't just having an effect on her health, but her business too.

Laurel and Gabby have a big bust up about the healthy menu at The Hide and the impact it's having on their dire financial situation.

As Laurel walks out in anger, eavesdropping Robert Sugden is delighted that their failing business is playing right into his hands.

After Gabby coughs up blood, she's privately alarmed and returns to the doctors for tests.

While there, she starts regurgitating extreme conspiracy theories about pharmaceutical companies, and disturbed Manpreet realises what kind of social media content Gabby's consuming...

Later that week, Manpreet suggests to Gabby she might have something known as Orthorexia, an unhealthy obsession with eating "pure" food.

However, Gabby rejects her diagnosis, still in denial about her worrying eating habits. Will Manpreet be able to get through to her?

Rosie Bentham, who plays Gabby, previously told us: "Gabby is losing control of her life in many aspects - love interests, not finding her place, and her mum being away in Portugal.

"While Orthorexia isn't currently a recognised eating disorder, it is an excessive concern for everything going into her body. It will be interesting to see how this plays out regarding her relationships, her son Thomas, and her job in the food industry."
