Billionaire businesswoman, Apostle Folorunso Alakija and the lawmaker representing Osun East in the Senate, Francis Fadahunsi, on Friday congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election.

Alakija described Adeleke’s renewed mandate as a testament to the confidence and trust the people of the state continue to repose in his leadership.

In a congratulatory letter dated September 3, and addressed to Adeleke, the immediate past chancellor of Osun State University, Osogbo, also expressed her joy and gratitude to God over what she described as the Governor’s “resounding victory” in the recent governorship election.

She said Adeleke’s first-term, “Commitment to the welfare, development, progress and well-being of Osun and its people had not gone unnoticed,” adding that his re-election affirmed the work already done by his administration.

According to her, “The renewed mandate also places a responsibility on the Governor to deliver even greater service to the people of Osun.”

Meanwhile, Fadahunsi in a statement he personally signed, obtained in Osogbo on Friday, congratulated Adeleke on his “Well-deserved re-election as Governor of Osun State.”

The statement further read, “Your Excellency, having won the confidence and electoral franchise of the people for a second-term, I pray that God Almighty will grant you the wisdom, strength, and grace to surpass your achievements.

“I also pray that you will consolidate the gains of your first-term and deliver even more dividends of democracy to our people especially my Senatorial District.

“Please accept my assurances of support, collaboration, and partnership as we – you, me, and other stakeholders – work together for the peace, progress, and prosperity of our dear State.”

The PUNCH reports that the incumbent Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, was returned elected by the State Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Joshua Ogunwole, in the August 15 governorship poll.

Adeleke won the governorship poll with a total of 511,067, to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, who polled 444,815 votes.
