Newly appointed Inter Lagos interim head coach Olusanjo Olutayo has issued a rallying cry to his squad, promising fans that the team will show renewed fight and determination as they battle to turn their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season around.

Olutayo was thrust into the interim role following the resignation of Shakiru Giwa, who stepped down after a difficult start to the campaign that left the Lagos-based club rooted at the bottom of the league standings with just five points from their opening eight matches.

Speaking to the club’s media in the wake of his appointment, Olutayo emphasized that commitment and collective accountability will be non-negotiable as he looks to steady the ship.

“To be honest, what they can expect from me is a team that is going to fight. A team that is going to put all their efforts towards ensuring that as far as performance and results, we are going to fight and do all we can to ensure that we win games,” Olutayo stated.

“You are NPFL players for a reason, and we have to show that we belong here. So if we come together as a team and we hold each other accountable and form a strong bond, I promise you, we are going to have a strong and successful season.”

With the team searching for much-needed stability and an escape from the relegation zone, Olutayo’s immediate task will be instilling resilience and tactical discipline as Inter Lagos prepares for a crucial run of fixtures.
