e-Citizen services set for overnight disruption as Treasury begins maintenance tonight

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 7-The National Treasury has announced a scheduled overnight maintenance of the e-Citizen platform beginning tonight, warning users of possible temporary service interruptions and limited access to government digital services.

The maintenance exercise will begin at 10 pm tonight and run until 5 am tomorrow.

In a public notice issued through the Government Digital Payments Department, the Treasury said the exercise is intended to facilitate system upgrades, improve performance and strengthen the security of the platform.

The Treasury has advised members of the public, stakeholders and other system users to plan accordingly and complete any urgent transactions before the maintenance begins.

During the seven-hour exercise, users may experience temporary service interruptions or limited access to the platform and its associated services.

The notice stated that the upgrades are aimed at improving performance, enhancing security, and ensuring the “continued reliability of services.”

A second maintenance exercise is also scheduled for next weekend, beginning at 10 pm on Saturday, November 14, and ending at 5 am on Sunday, November 15.

The Treasury apologized for the inconvenience the interruptions may cause, while appealing for public patience and understanding.
