CINCINNATI -- Bengals coach Zac Taylor delivered a bit of optimistic injury news Monday.

Wide receiver Tee Higgins is considered day-to-day with an adductor issue he suffered toward the end of Sunday's 22-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Higgins tried to play through the injury on Cincinnati's final drive of the game but ultimately wasn't able to continue.

However, Taylor's prognosis opens the door for the seventh-year player to suit up for the team's upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins.

With star receiver Ja'Marr Chase out for most of yesterday's game with a concussion, Higgins had one of the best outings of his career -- 11 catches on 16 targets for 157 yards.

"Obviously [with] the game he had and the performances he's had for us in the past, any time you can get him it's great," Taylor said. "So we'll just see where he's at this week."

Taylor said the team will develop Higgins' rehab and preparation plan starting on Wednesday, which is the first practice day of the week.

Cincinnati will also have to see how Chase progresses as well. He is currently in concussion protocol, Taylor said, following a hit he sustained early in the second quarter.

Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones pulled Chase to the ground by his facemask, drawing a personal foul penalty. As Chase was heading to the turf, Jaguars linebacker Ventrell Miller hit Chase near the neck area. Chase did not return to the game. The injuries to Higgins and Chase will limit an already-depleted group. Cincinnati wide receiver Andrei Iosivas is on injured reserve while he recovers from thumb surgery, while rookie wideout Colbie Young is dealing with a left knee injury.

Taylor did not indicate when Young could return but suggested the outlook is better than initially believed.

"He's coming along faster than I would have initially thought," Taylor said. "I think that's the good news on it."

But as things stand, that leaves two healthy receivers on the team's 53-player roster -- Dohnte Meyers, a first-year NFL player who had a career-high 82 yards on Sunday; Mitch Tinsley, who was with the Bengals last season and returned last week after being signed from the Houston Texans' practice squad. Tinsley had three catches on seven targets for 49 yards.

Taylor mentioned rookie Noah Thomas and veteran Jordan Moore as potential options off the practice squad if needed for the team's road game against Miami (0-4).

Cincinnati (2-2) is looking to break a two-game losing streak before entering its bye week.
