Veteran actress Odette Khan became emotional as she recalled how Marian Rivera extended financial assistance to her when she was hospitalized earlier this year.

Khan and her daughter, Claudette, appeared on the YouTube program “Kay Susan Tayo! Vlogs,” where they looked back on the support they received during the seasoned actress’ medical ordeal.

“Miss Marian, if you’re listening right now, uulitin ko from the bottom of my heart, thank you very much. Hindi mo lang alam gaano kalaking tulong ‘yun at that time sa amin,” Claudette said.

The celebrity daughter also thanked Rivera’s husband, Dingdong Dantes, for seeking assistance from the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) in his capacity as president of Aktor Philippines. She said the agency’s assistance for her mother is currently being processed.

Claudette then recalled how she informed Khan about Rivera’s financial gift while the veteran actress was still confined at the hospital.

“I whispered to her, ‘Mommy O, may financial gift tayo na na-receive, the help.’ Sabi niya, ‘Kanino?’ Sabi ko, ‘From Marian,’” Claudette recounted.

When she clarified that the assistance came from Rivera, Khan opened her eyes before closing them again. Claudette then noticed a tear falling from her mother’s eyes.

“‘Please tell Marian, thank you, galing sa akin,’” Claudette recalled her mother saying.

Khan became emotional when host Susan Enriquez asked why she was crying, explaining that she wished she had been able to personally express her gratitude to Rivera at the time.

“Kasi hindi ko nagawa sa kaniya na ako mismo nagsalita sana,” Khan tearfully expressed. “Marian. For whatever it is, thank you so much. You were there to help. I felt so good. Thank God. You did something beautiful in my heart. Thank you.”

Khan and Rivera previously worked together in the 2007 TV series “Muli.” At the time, there were reports that the two had an issue during the production, which involved a realistic slap scene (sampalan) that got intense.

Claudette admitted to Enriquez that there was a time when her mother and Rivera had a controversy, but it had been addressed long before.

Meanwhile, Khan’s hospitalization in February came after she suffered from several health complications, including pneumonia, emphysema and edema.

She was confined at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) in Quezon City, where doctors drained fluid from her right lung.
