Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy Transition Bahlil Lahadalia said the establishment of the new coordinating ministry was aimed at accelerating the implementation of President Prabowo’s targets for downstreaming and energy transition.
Speaking after his inauguration at the State Palace on Thursday, Bahlil, who also serves as Energy and Mineral Resources Minister, said he would carry out his duties in both positions effectively, particularly in achieving downstreaming and energy transition targets included in the President's priority programs.
"As we know, one of the President’s programs under Asta Cita concerns downstreaming and energy transition. We must consolidate these efforts through the Coordinating Ministry to accelerate implementation going forward," he noted.
He said the new coordinating ministry would coordinate relevant ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming, to achieve these targets. The coordinating ministry's office will remain at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
"The office will remain at the Ministry of ESDM. And our focus is on downstreaming, with 90 percent of total investment concentrated in the energy and mineral resources sector," Bahlil explained.
Regarding the ministries and institutions that will be placed under the Coordinating Ministry for Downstreaming and Energy Transition, the minister said he was still awaiting a presidential regulation on the establishment of the coordinating ministry.
