Kadingilan senior becomes Bukidnon’s 33rd centenarian

KADINGILAN, Bukidnon — A 100-year-old resident from the municipality of Kadingilan has added her name to the growing roster of centenarians in Bukidnon, following national and local government recognition of her community contributions.

Anacleta Balonda Ramonida officially became Bukidnon’s 33rd recorded centenarian—comprising 23 females and 10 males—receiving ₱100,000 in cash incentives and food packs under the Centenarians Act of 2016 (Republic Act No. 10868).

The law honors every Filipino who reaches the age of 100 with a cash gift and a presidential letter of felicitation.

Mary Jean Asum, National Commission of Senior Citizens – Region 10 (NCSC-10) director, told the Inquirer on Tuesday that they personally handed over the incentives and honors during the first week of September, alongside Kadingilan municipal councilor Jerry Canoy Sr.

Asum noted that apart from the centenarians, a total of 4,651 senior citizens (80-year-old bracket) across Bukidnon’s 22 municipalities and cities have successfully received cash gift distributions as of September 15.

This broader rollout falls under Republic Act No. 11982, which amends the original law to include beneficiaries starting from the 80-year-old bracket.

Among the 33 centenarians who reached the century milestone across the province, Valencia City leads with six grantees, followed by Malaybalay City with five, Cabanglasan and Talakag with four each, Kadingilan and Manolo Fortich with three each, and Lantapan with two.

Single centenarian beneficiaries were recorded in Don Carlos, Impasug-ong, Kalilangan, Quezon, and Sumilao.

Meanwhile, local officials noted a bittersweet milestone within the municipality.

LGU Kadingilan Information Officer Isabel Obor-Capili reported that another local centenarian, Patricio Renegado of Sinaculan, Poblacion, who was born on March 17, 1926, passed away on June 28, 2026.

The commission continues its ongoing coordination with local government units to validate, update, and process qualified grantees. /jpv
