Israeli authorities detained the Palestinian Authority's Jerusalem Affairs Minister, Ashraf Hassan Abbas al-Awar, at his home in the Silwan neighborhood in east Jerusalem on Wednesday morning, the PA's official news agency WAFA reported.

Awar was taken for questioning, according to the reports.

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa appointed Awar as Jerusalem Affairs Minister in 2024.
