Shygirl Reveals New Album Swallow!, Shares Song

Shygirl has returned with her long-awaited sophomore album. Swallow! arrives November 6 via Because Music. Later today, she’s sharing its lead single, “Lucky (Hymn),” a track about coming into your own, as well as an Austen Taylor Pease-directed video that was filmed in one unbroken take.

Swallow! was written during a coming-of-age moment in Shygirl’s life, during which she fell in love, learned more about herself and her impulses, and uncorked a deeper type of appreciation for what surrounds her. “Shygirl calls Swallow! a reintroduction,” reads a press release. “During sporadic, unhurried sessions, Karma Kid made everything maximalist, while Casey MQ fine-tuned the delicate moments. Shygirl realized she didn’t need to leave her electronic roots behind to find something new.”

It’s been four years since Shygirl dropped her debut album, Nymph, and her life has been a bit of a whirlwind ever since. She released two EPs—2024’s Club Shy and 2025’s Club Shy Room 2—as well as remix versions, collaborated with everyone from PinkPantheress to Saweetie, got a Björk cosign, and opened for Charli XCX on her Sweat tour behind Brat.
