Kaizer Chiefs face Golden Arrows test in Mbombela

Kaizer Chiefs will look to maintain their unbeaten start to the Betway Premiership season when they travel to Mpumalanga to face Golden Arrows on Sunday, 20 September.

The seventh-round clash will take place at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, after initially being scheduled for King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi.

Kick-off is at 15:00.

Targeting maximum points

The Glamour Boys go into the fixture in fourth place with 12 points from six matches, having won three and drawn three.

Kaizer Chiefs were held to a 1-1 draw by Polokwane City last weekend, with Lebohang Maboe scoring his second goal of the season with a first-half strike.

Fernando da Cruz’s side will now be targeting maximum points against Golden Arrows as they look to keep pace with the leading teams.

Golden Arrows, meanwhile, are seventh on the table with seven points from six matches. Abafana Bes’thende also played to a 1-1 draw last weekend, against Siwelele in Bloemfontein.

The result leaves Golden Arrows with just one win from their opening six league matches, making Sunday’s encounter an important opportunity to climb the standings.
