Nayyi Navelli Box Office Day 1: Misses To Enter Yami Gautam’s Top 10 Openers Despite Opening 92% Higher Than Her Last Release – Haq!
Yami Gautam’s festive family entertainer Nayyi Navelli, co-starring Addinath Kothare, has kicked off its theatrical journey on a decent note. Directed by Balaji Mohan of Maari fame, the film is riding on positive early reviews and festive word-of-mouth. However, on the opening day, it missed hitting any major milestone and could have opened better if it had not clashed with Prahaar.
Nayyi Navelli Box Office Day 1
On the opening day, October 16, Friday, Nayyi Navelli opened at 3.36 crore at the box office. Allocated over 6,280 shows in India, the film maintained a low 11% overall occupancy on Friday, bringing in lower numbers. If the film had managed to cross the 5 crore mark, things would have looked brighter!
Surpasses Yami Gautam’s Last Opening
However, the fantasy drama marks a massive 92% surge over Yami Gautam’s previous theatrical release Haq, which opened at 1.75 crore at the box office. Despite this huge jump, the film still failed to enter the top 10 openers of Yami Gautam’s career.
Trending
With a 3.36 crore net start, Nayyi Navelli missed out on dethroning 2016’s Sanam Re, which claims the 10th spot in the list of the top 10 openers of Yami Gautam‘s career. Co-starring Pulkit Samrat and Urvashi Rautela, Sanam Re opened at 4.5 crore at the Indian box office.
Given that Nayyi Navelli is tailored specifically as a wholesome, festive family film, the expectations rely heavily on Saturday and Sunday momentum. With glowing audience reviews praising its humor, folklore charm, and performances, the film is well-positioned to witness a healthy jump over the weekend, which might stretch for good numbers over the Dussehra holiday!
