Missing Kempton Park runner: Family pleads for end to rumours

The family of missing Kempton Park runner Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo has urged the public to stop circulating unverified information while they wait for answers.

Moselakgomo, 38, went missing after leaving her home in Rhodesfield, Kempton Park, for a run. She never returned.

Her family is now waiting to establish whether an unidentified woman found in the York Street area on Saturday is Elizabeth.

Authorities have not confirmed the woman’s identity.

Family to attend mortuary identification

Family spokesperson Dawn Gauden said relatives went to the area where authorities found the unidentified woman.

However, they could not identify her at the scene because of the injuries she had sustained and the late hour.

Authorities later took the body to the state mortuary.

Gauden said Elizabeth’s relatives would proceed with the formal identification process on Monday.

“The family is appealing to the public to refrain from sharing any unverified or unconfirmed information,” she said.

Elizabeth disappeared after leaving home

Moselakgomo, affectionately known as “Tsontso”, disappeared after leaving her Rhodesfield home for a run.

Her disappearance has prompted widespread concern as her family waits for confirmed information about her whereabouts.

The family’s latest appeal comes amid growing speculation online following the discovery of the unidentified woman.

Until authorities complete the formal identification process, there is no confirmation that the woman found on Saturday is Moselakgomo.
