Barcelona began its Champions League campaign in commanding fashion with a 5-1 win over Feyenoord on Wednesday, with Raphinha continuing his strong start to the season by scoring twice.
Karim Adeyemi, Lamine Yamal and substitute Gabriel Jesus also found the net for Hansi Flick’s side, while Sem Steijn scored Feyenoord’s only goal.
Barcelona went ahead after just three minutes through Raphinha. Playing as the central striker following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, the Brazilian cut inside the penalty area, beat two defenders and finished calmly.
The goal continued an impressive run for Raphinha, who has now scored eight times in five matches this season.
Adeyemi doubled the lead with a fine long-range effort, curling the ball beyond Feyenoord goalkeeper Tjark Ernst from outside the box.
Feyenoord had opportunities of its own, with Anis Hadj Moussa forcing Joan Garcia into a save at the near post. Barcelona, however, remained in control and nearly added another when Joao Cancelo beat Givairo Read before striking the outside of the post.

Raphinha scored his second before the hour mark after racing on to Pedri’s through-ball and finishing past Ernst.
Feyenoord appeared to have responded immediately through Nacho Ferri, but the goal was ruled out following a VAR review for offside in the build-up.
Barcelona continued to create chances, with Fermin Lopez forcing Ernst into another save before Yamal made it 4-0 with a free-kick that found its way through the wall.
Steijn eventually pulled one back for the Dutch side after Goncalo Borges delivered a low cross towards the far post.
Barcelona, though, had the final word. Jesus, introduced from the bench, glanced home Yamal’s cross to score his first goal for the club since arriving from Arsenal in the summer.
The result extended Barcelona’s perfect start to the season. Flick’s team has won all five of its matches across competitions and has scored five goals in four of them.
