EPL: Arsenal set to renew Arteta’s contract – Reports
Arsenal are closing in on a new long-term contract for manager Mikel Arteta, with negotiations understood to have made significant progress in recent weeks.
As reported by BBC Sport on Thursday, the club are increasingly confident that the Spaniard will extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium, despite his current agreement having just nine months remaining.
Arteta has already made his intentions clear, insisting there is little doubt over his desire to continue in north London.
“Everybody feels comfortable that the timing of the contract is not going to be an issue because my will certainly is to be here and I’m very happy here,” Arteta said.
“My feeling from the club is the same one. That’s why everyone is doing things in a very organic way.”

Arsenal chief executive Richard Garlick has also played down concerns over the delay, describing the agreement as a “matter of time”.
Arteta is expected to become one of the highest-paid managers in world football once the new deal is signed. Arsenal are understood to have committed to substantially improving his current package, which is worth around £10 million per season, with a further £5 million available for Champions League qualification.
Since taking charge in December 2019, Arteta has transformed Arsenal into one of England’s leading sides. His influence now extends well beyond the touchline, with the manager playing a central role in the club’s footballing strategy and recruitment.
Arteta’s approval has been central to Arsenal’s pursuit of elite players, while the club’s ownership has continued to back his long-term vision.
