Orange rainfall warning up in parts of Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga


MANILA, Philippines — Orange rainfall warning was hoisted in parts of Bataan, Zambales and Pampanga on Saturday morning due to the effects of the southwest monsoon, the state weather bureau said.
Based on an 8 a.m. advisory by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), orange rainfall warning is raised over Abucay, Hermosa, Samal, Orani, Morong and Dinalupihan in Bataan; Olongapo, Subic, San Antonio, Castillejos in Zambales; and Lubao and Floridablanca in Pampanga.

When an area is under orange warning, 15 millimeter (mm) and 30 mm of intense rain is expected within one hour and could continue in the next two hours.

Due to this, flooding is “threatening,” according to Pagasa.
Meanwhile, yellow rainfall warning is raised over the following areas:
- Metro Manila
- Laguna (Binan, San Pedro)
- Cavite (Carmona, Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Dasmarinas, Bacoor, Imus, Tanza, General Trias, Kawit, Rosario, Noveleta, Cavite City, Naic, Maragondon, Ternate, Magallanes, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Trece Martires)
- Batangas (Nasugbu, Tuy, Balayan, Lian, Calatagan)
- Rizal (Rodriguez, San Mateo, Taytay, Cainta, Angono, Antipolo, Baras, Tanay, Morong, Teresa)
- Zambales (Botolan, San Marcelino, Cabangan, Candelaria, Iba, Masinloc, Palauig, Santa Cruz, San Felipe, San Narciso)
- Bataan (Bagac, Balanga, Limay, Mariveles, Orion, Pilar)
- Tarlac (San Jose, Capas, Mayantoc, Santa Ignacia, Camiling, San Clemente, Bamban)
- Pampanga(Porac, Masantol, Macabebe, Sasmuan, Guagua, Minalin, Apalit, Santa Rita) and
- Bulacan(Hagonoy, Paombong, Calumpit, San Jose del Monte, Malolos, Plaridel, Pulilan, Bulakan, Marilao, Meycauayan, Obando, Guiguinto, Balagtas, Bocaue).
Areas under yellow rainfall warning tend to experience rainfall between 7.5 mm and 15 mm within one hour and could continue in the next two hours.
Meanwhile light to moderate with occasional heavy rains should be expected over Nueva Ecija (Carranglan, Pantabangan, Rizal, Bongabon, Gabaldon, Laur, General Tinio, Penaranda, Palayan, San Antonio, San Isidro, Cabiao, Gapan, Cuyapo, Nampicuan, Guimba) within the next three hours.
Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains, on the other hand, is already affecting parts of Cavite, Laguna, Riza, Quezon, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac and Batangas which may persist within the next three hours and also affect nearby areas. /mr
