Drop in temperatures, rainy weather across Egypt on Saturday

Translate

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects temperatures to remain low across most regions on Saturday.

This will be accompanied by a chance of rain—varying in intensity—in parts of the north, along with active winds and disrupted maritime navigation along some Mediterranean coasts.

During the day, the weather will be moderate in most areas, and slightly hot in southern part of Upper Egypt.

At night and during the early morning, it will turn cool to cold across most regions.

Rainfall Map

Weather maps indicate a chance of moderate rainfall across parts of the North Coast governorates and the northern Lower Egypt.

The rainfall may occasionally be heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, with a 30 percent probability – particularly in areas including El Alamein, Alexandria, the northern Delta, and North Sinai, occurring intermittently.

There is also a 30 percent chance of light rain across scattered areas of the southern Lower Egypt and the Suez Canal cities.

This may extend to parts of Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, the Gulf of Suez, central and southern Sinai, and further south to the Halayeb and Shalateen regions.

Satellite imagery has detected intermittent wind activity across most regions, which is intensifying the perception of lower temperatures.

Furthermore, maritime navigation is being disrupted along parts of the Mediterranean coast—specifically in Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr el-Sheikh, Damietta, Port Said, and el-Arish.

Wind speeds in these areas will range between 40-50 kilometers per hour, with wave heights reaching two to 3.5 meters.

The EMA urged the public to take necessary precautions and measures and to stay updated through the latest bulletins issued by the authority.
