Sabrina Ionescu Expands Away Partnership With New Travel Collection, Featuring Limited-Edition Colorways and Signed Luggage Tags

Sabrina Ionescu is hitting the road with Away.

The luggage brand has teamed up with the New York Liberty star on a limited-edition travel collection, marking Away’s first collaboration within its premium Aluminum Edge line. The capsule includes two suitcases and a pair of packing accessories inspired by Ionescu’s basketball career and Northern California roots.

The Away x Sabrina Ionescu Series arrives one year after Away became the Official Luggage Partner of the New York Liberty through a multiyear deal with the team. Ionescu, a four-time WNBA All-Star and 2024 WNBA champion, has remained one of the league’s biggest names this season; the Liberty also picked up their second Commissioner’s Cup title in July.

For the new capsule, Ionescu worked with Away on two exclusive colorways dubbed No. 20 Pine and No. 20 Legacy — both named for the guard’s jersey number. The collection also includes personal touches throughout, including a custom luggage tag printed with a quote and Ionescu’s signature, plus New York Liberty co-branded interiors.

Leading the lineup is the Aluminum Edge Trunk, priced at $618, a roomy checked suitcase designed to hold approximately three weeks’ worth of clothing. The trunk comes in both No. 20 Pine and No. 20 Legacy. For shorter road trips, there’s the $468 Aluminum Edge Bigger Carry-On, which fits roughly five to seven outfits. The case combines an aluminum frame with Away’s hard shell and a pebbled, leather-inspired exterior finish. The collection rounds out with two packing accessories in No. 20 Salt White: the $138 PackAway Checked Compression Closet, designed to organize and compress clothing inside checked luggage, and the $48 Large Shoe Cube, which features a collapsible divider and exclusive print with enough space for multiple pairs.

Ionescu, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft, helped lead New York to its first WNBA championship in 2024. She also re-signed with the Liberty on a multiyear deal earlier this year alongside Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones.

The Away x Sabrina Ionescu Series will be available online at Away and at select stores in New York’s NoHo and Williamsburg neighborhoods, as well as the brand’s Hayes Valley location in San Francisco.
