Mr P heralds upcoming album with 'Chukwu Mme'

Translate

Mr P (formerly of the duo P-Square) has released Chukwu Mme, an Igbo-language title that translates to "God Has Done It." The record serves as a pivotal entry in his solo rollout ahead of his upcoming studio album, OG Forever, and is billed by the artist as an anthem for both the streets and the upcoming festive season.

Musically, Chukwu Mme represents a sonic bridge between contemporary Afropop and classic Highlife instrumentation, moving away from the heavily romance-driven tone of his previous single I Love You Because. Mr P instead makes a more measured rhythm that gives his vocal performance and message room to breathe, delivering lines across a blend of English and Igbo that lean into themes of hope, hard work, and gratitude.

The song turns toward reflection and thanksgiving, with Mr P acknowledging God's role through difficult moments and the progress that has followed. Lyrics like "Chukwu mee, ka o di mma / Bless our work, make e show" capture that spirit of grounded gratitude running through the track.

The shift in direction adds useful range to the OG Forever rollout, showing another side of Mr P beyond romance and upbeat material. His long-established audience, built over decades first as part of P-Square and then as a solo artist, gives the record a strong base of support as anticipation continues building around the full album.
