Red Dead Redemption 3 Perfect Lead Character Unites Gamers

Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. Thus far we have only had two Red Dead Redemption games, but both have been pretty spectacular lessons in how to tell a compelling story in the medium. The second game draws a lot of the attention now, and that's understandable, given that it probably has a solid argument to say it's one of the best games of all-time.

As fun as both of those experiences were, thoughts have inevitably turned to exactly what's to come next for the series, some eight years on since the release of the last game. If we do ever get a third game in the series, fans have come to a bit of a consensus about what exactly they want to see, including which character they want to play through it as.

Over on Reddit, one user shared a post stating their desire for Sadie Adler to take the lead in the next Red Dead Redemption game. Adler appears as a major character in the story of the second game, and she has all the right characteristics to take on the mantle that John and Arthur carried so well.

As you might expect, there were plenty of comments in agreement from other fans who wanted to see something similar, as well as some who thought another approach might be necessary at this point in the series.

"I respect everyone who picks her and that'd certainly make a great RDR3. However, she isn't really my favorite character. I've always felt like Rockstar tried a little to hard to push that character of a strong independent woman who uses her trauma as fuel. It doesn't really click with me," one comment read.

While another added, "I would love it. But I offer… LANDON F**KIN RICKETTS. That would be a cool story to tell that lets them start a little fresh. Sam Elliot, the gunslinger edition, the game. Perfection."

"Every character from RDR2 had an amazing sense of purpose and development. Her story was my favorite of the bunch. The arch of her character was so believable for a late 1800s woman. My life would belong to Rockstar as well if they did something with her," a third said.

"That’s a great idea! I also really like her character. One thing I’d love to see is her story after the epilogue in the 1910s, following her as she starts a new life in South America. She would face entirely different challenges there, eventually finding love again," another said.

As many others in the comments pointed out, senior figures at Rockstar have already said that the Red Dead Redemption saga was only ever meant to play out in two parts, and the story of the Van Der Linde gang and everyone associated with it is now complete. It will be interesting to see if they stick to that given its success, but I like to think we aren't quite done with the Wild West just yet.
