My Chemical Romance Announce The Black Parade 20th Anniversary Reissue

My Chemical Romance are continuing the 20th anniversary celebration of their third studio album, The Black Parade, with an expanded reissue.
Out October 23rd via Reprise Records, The Black Parade (20th Anniversary) features the original album alongside six bonus tracks. Three songs are live recordings from MCR’s October 24th, 2007 show at the 200-capacity venue Maxwell’s in Hoboken, New Jersey. The other three are fan-favorite B-sides, including the previously unreleased “Someone Out There Loves You.”

As a preview, Gerard Way and co. have brought a 2007 Maxwell’s recording of “The Sharpest Lives” to streaming for the first time. It was previously only available on the DVD accompanying the band’s 2008 live collection The Black Parade Is Dead! Check out a video of the performance below.
The expanded reissue is available for pre-order on 2xLP, CD, and cassette at the official My Chemical Romance store, with vinyl colorways including an exclusive Bloodline Red variant, Baby Pink, and Concrete Grey. There’s also a laser-etched hologram vinyl pressing housed in a gatefold jacket with a removable O-card, new art insert, and printed inner sleeve, as well as a limited One Step vinyl package created with the original analog master recording.
“Twenty years ago, we wrote what would become The Black Parade, our third record and the follow-up to Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge,” MCR shared in a statement. “At the time, we could never have imagined what the record would mean for the band. All we knew is that we had made something crazy, and something we couldn’t wait to get it out into the world.”
It continues, “For the first time, we have included everything we finished during those sessions in a single collection. As importantly, we asked James Jean to revisit the world of The Black Parade and create three new pieces of art. What he has crafted is a beautiful collection of a few iconic characters from the record during that era. James is truly a one-of-a-kind artist, and so important to how this record was presented to the world. We are extremely grateful for meeting him all those years ago, and agreeing now to make something new.”
MCR are currently wrapping up their 2026 “Black Parade Tour,” which will conclude with a five-night stint at the Hollywood Bowl, including non-anniversary shows on Devil’s Night and Halloween. Along the way, the group will headline Louder Than Life and Aftershock before closing out the year with a string of shows in Southeast Asia.
