Troops rescue two victims from Zamfara terrorists
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have reportedly rescued two people who were reportedly being abducted by armed terrorists along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The victims were rescued during a routine patrol on October 4 when the troops encountered armed terrorists attacking two people travelling on a motorcycle.
According to a security source who wants anonymity because he is not cleared to speak officially on the matter, the troops swiftly intervened after sighting the attack, forcing the terrorists to flee and abandon their victims.
“The troops were on routine patrol when they spotted armed terrorists attacking two people travelling on a motorcycle,” the source said.
“The soldiers immediately moved in and engaged the attackers, forcing them to flee and abandon the victims.”

The source said the two victims were subsequently rescued by the troops and taken to safety.
Following the incident, security forces have intensified patrols along the Anka–Gadan Manya axis to prevent terrorists from operating freely in the area and to protect residents and road users.
“The troops have intensified patrols in the area to deny the terrorists freedom of movement and ensure the safety of residents,” the reliable source added.
Our correspondent reports that the successful intervention has been described as a timely response by the troops amid continued security challenges along some routes in Zamfara State.
