Coyote vs. Acme Ruled Eligible for the Best Animated Feature Oscar

The Ketchup Entertainment movie Coyote vs. Acme, following its rescue from a Warner Bros. dumpster, is now an official Oscar contender. Gold Derby has confirmed that the hybrid live-action/animated film, starring Will Forte, John Cena, and a ton of Looney Tunes favorites, will be eligible as a submission for Best Animated Feature at the 2027 Academy Awards.
Coyote vs. Acme wouldn’t be the first hybrid film in recent memory to receive a nomination in this category — 2022’s Marcel the Shell With Shoes On was also an Oscar nominee despite its live-action elements. Other contenders in its category this year include the Laika stop-motion fantasy epic Wildwood, Disney’s Toy Story 5 and Hoppers, and Brad Bird’s Ray Gunn.
