Lacson hits back at netizen who called him gay

MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson disputed on Tuesday a netizen’s comment calling him gay.

In a social media post where Lacson commended former House Speaker Martin Romualdez’ arrest in relation to the flood control mess, a netizen replied: “Bading!”

To this, Lacson responded: “You don’t know me, and I don’t know you. I’ll say it again – kung ako bading, wala ka nang makitang macho sa mundo.”

(You don’t know me, and I don’t know you. I’ll say it again – if I were gay, you wouldn’t see a macho in the world.)

Lacson has long been contradicting claims about his sexuality.

Earlier this year, the Senator said he is not gay, after Sen. Imee Marcos said  she would lose if  they pulled each other’s hair. Marcos later denied insinuating that Lacson is gay, saying “he has a very shallow definition of what a ‘real man’ is.”

Lacson said he has nothing against the LGBTQ community, saying “It is their choice, and I respect them for that,” noting that he “still prefers to be a real man.”

In 2013, the late Miriam Defensor-Santiago threatened to expose Lacson’s sexuality – even calling him “Pinky” Lacson.

This was also debunked by Lacson, who said: “If she’s insinuating some lunatic idea about my sexuality, let me emphasize this—I am not gay and I don’t intend to be one.” /jpv
