‘Habagat’ rainfall in Metro Manila reaches 186 mm in 23 hours
MANILA, Philippines — The amount of rainfall in Metro Manila due to the southwest monsoon, or habagat, reached 186 millimeters (mm) in 23 hours, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Sunday.
In a Facebook post, the MMDA said the amount of rainfall was monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration from 9 a.m. on Aug. 29, Saturday, to 8 a.m. on Aug. 30, Sunday.

The MMDA noted that it would continue to conduct flood mitigation measures in flooded areas in Metro Manila, such as using mobile pumps, declogging, and dredging operations in drainages and waterways, and clearing debris and garbage from drainage inlets.
