Teachers' welfare, well-being must never be taken lightly - Farhan

KUANTAN: The welfare and well-being of teachers must never be taken lightly, Prime Minister's Political Secretary Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi said.

He said teachers are among the noblest members of society, not merely imparting knowledge but also shaping character, thinking, and a nation's fundamental values.

"We often speak of the immense role teachers play in shaping children's futures. However, while placing high expectations on educators, we must never forget that they, too, have lives, families, responsibilities and aspirations of their own," he said at the Kuantan District Education Office's 2025 Excellent Service Awards ceremony here today, where 642 people were recognised for their service.

Farhan said education remained a key priority for the Madani government and continued to receive attention, including through an increased allocation of nearly RM69 billion for the Education Ministry under the 2027 Budget.

He said the welfare of specific groups of educators was also being prioritised, including through an increase in the Special Needs Education Teaching Incentive from RM250 to RM300 per month.

Farhan also announced a contribution of RM30,000 as a commitment to supporting educators' welfare and educational excellence in the district.

"I hope this contribution will be used prudently to meet the district's educational needs, particularly to improve facilities, strengthen teaching and learning, and create a more conducive educational environment.

"Hopefully, the benefits will be felt directly by teachers and pupils, contributing to improvements in the quality and performance of local education," he said.
