Oga Obinna Responds To Public Backlash Following Baby Mama’s Emotional Financial Appeal

Translate

Radio personality Oga Obinna has addressed public criticism after his baby mama, Tallie—popularly known as Mama Ella—made an emotional online plea for capital to start a small business.

During a TikTok livestream on Friday, October 23, 2026, Tallie broke down in tears while discussing the challenges of navigating single motherhood while unemployed. Despite holding a degree in journalism and mass communication and submitting applications daily, she disclosed that securing stable employment has remained difficult.

Tallie acknowledged that Obinna consistently fulfills his parental duties by providing for their daughter, Ella. However, she appealed to the public and potential brand partners for assistance in raising capital to launch a home-based enterprise to achieve financial independence.

Obinna Defends His Scope of Responsibility

While Tallie’s statement resonated with many viewers, it also prompted online backlash against Obinna, with critics questioning why the media personality had not financed her business venture.

Responding via a video posted on his Instagram page, Obinna addressed the criticism directly, asserting that a father’s financial obligation lies strictly with his biological children rather than their mothers.

“So if you send her money and she uses it to make her hair, money that was supposed to be used on the child, just like how corruption works, then…” Obinna stated during his response.

He argued that fathers frequently face public scrutiny regardless of their contributions, clarifying that while providing for Ella remains his priority and legal duty, funding Tallie’s personal expenses or business start-ups falls outside his parental scope.
