Inter confirm Hakan Calhanoglu has suffered a muscle strain in the adductor muscle of his right thigh, meaning the Turkey international will miss Saturday’s big game against Roma.
Inter star Calhanoglu will miss Saturday’s big Serie A game against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Turkey international already sat out Monday’s 5-3 win against Udinese, and Inter confirmed the extent of his injury on Tuesday afternoon.
“Calhanoglu underwent medical tests this morning at the Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano. The tests revealed a muscle strain in the adductor muscle of his right thigh,” Inter said in a statement.
“His condition will be assessed over the coming days.”
As reported by several sources, including Gazzetta and Sky, this means Calhanoglu will miss Inter’s upcoming game at Roma.
Calhanoglu, 32, has scored two goals in four appearances across all competitions this season, leaving his mark in the Nerazzurri’s victories against Monza and Cagliari.
Inter coach Cristian Chivu picked Nicolò Barella, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Piotr Zielinski for their victory over Udinese yesterday, while Aleksandar Stankovic and Curtis Jones came on as substitutes in the second half.
Calhanoglu has just started his sixth season at Inter. The 32-year-old’s contract at San Siro runs out at the end of the current campaign, in June 2027.
He has scored 52 goals and provided 39 assists in 216 Inter appearances since 2021.
