Kelana Jaya LRT line resumes operations after power disruption

The Kelana Jaya LRT line resumed operations at 10.25am today following a power disruption at the Universiti station earlier this morning.
In a statement, Rapid KL said the power disruption left a train stranded between the Taman Jaya and Universiti stations. No injuries were reported.
“As a precaution, passengers were transferred to another train and shuttled to the nearest station.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” it added.
The rail operator also said it had withdrawn the train from service and was investigating the incident.
A witness earlier told FMT that a boom was heard before the train came to an abrupt halt, causing a number of people to lose balance and fall.
The train remained motionless on the tracks for roughly 20 minutes before Rapid KL personnel began helping passengers onto another train on the other side of the tracks.
