Tory Lanez has announced a series of music events while serving his prison sentence in connection with the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Despite remaining incarcerated, the rapper is set to have his music featured at a series of upcoming listening experiences across the US.

Tory Lanez to hold a series of concerts

According to Complex, the events, titled the ‘Not On Tor Tour’, will not be conventional concerts, as Lanez will not be physically present at the venues. Instead, the shows have been described as listening experiences, allowing fans to hear his music while he remains behind bars. The report also stated that the events will feature “unnamed guests”, although further details about the format and guest appearances have not been disclosed. The tour is scheduled to begin on September 25 at HK Hall in New York and conclude on November 13 at Avalon Social in Pittsburgh. Lanez, meanwhile, will remain incarcerated at the California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo. The announcement has drawn attention because of the unusual circumstances surrounding the tour, with the rapper continuing to pursue his music career while serving his sentence.

Tory Lanez continues releasing music from prison

The upcoming events are not the first time Lanez has continued his musical output while incarcerated.

Earlier this year, in July, he released MADE YOU THINK I WAS GONE… BUT, a double album featuring separate rap and R&B components. The new tour will similarly allow his music to reach audiences without Lanez appearing in person at the scheduled venues.

About Tory Lanez’s incarceration

Tory Lanez was convicted in December 2022 on three felony counts stemming from the July 2020 shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion in Los Angeles. The charges included assault with a semiautomatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2023 and remains incarcerated at the California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo.
