After a day of availability on the streaming service, it was already #2 globally on Netflix, only losing to Crew Girl, which the Hunnam crime series finally left behind on Saturday, September 19. The crime drama also ranks higher than shows like Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen, which recently returned for season 2, the Turkish drama Not a Stranger, the reality shows Physical 100: Mexico and Physical 100: Italy, and more.

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story is trending on Netflix in 92 countries right now. Out of those, Hunnam's hit crime series is the most-watched TV show on Netflix in 60 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and more. Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story is also the most popular series on Netflix in the United States, leaving behind shows like Jo Koy: Blue in the Face, I Survived a Serial Killer, The Gentlemen, and more. After playing Ed Gein in Monster season 3, Hunnam gives life to Andrew Borden, Lizzie's father, in the anthology series' new season.

The Lizzie Borden Story Set A New Rotten Tomatoes Record

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story's streaming success on Netflix comes after the crime series set a new Rotten Tomatoes record for the franchise, only it was a negative one. Monster season 4 stands as the Netflix hit series' lowest-rated thus far with viewers, currently at a disappointing 35% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

That is lower than Ed Gein's 49%, Lyle and Erik Menendez's 57%, and Dahmer's 82%, with the first season of Monster being the only entry in the show with a positive score. Still, despite the negative reviews, as season 4 also holds a 47% critics' score, Hunnam's Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story is a Netflix global hit.
