Michael Jordan jersey sells for record $14 million
A jersey worn by basketball legend Michael Jordan during the 1998 NBA Finals has sold for a record $14 million, breaking a mark set just last month, US auction house Hunt Auctions said on Monday.
A US real estate developer paid the sum for the red Chicago Bulls jersey bearing Jordan's iconic number 23, which he wore in Game 2 of the finals against the Utah Jazz.

It was the highest price ever paid for a piece of basketball memorabilia, according to the auction house.
However, it is not the most expensive sports jersey ever sold. That record belongs to a New York Yankees jersey worn by baseball legend Babe Ruth during the 1932 World Series, which fetched $24.12 million in 2024.
Only last month, another Jordan jersey worn in Game 3 of the same finals sold for a then-record $12.26 million.
The 1997-98 season was Jordan's last with the Chicago Bulls and is the focus of the documentary "The Last Dance."
Led by Jordan, the Bulls won six NBA championships between 1991 and 1998, and jerseys from his final championship series remain highly sought after.
In 2022, his jersey from Game 1 of the 1998 finals sold for $10.1 million, a record that stood until last month's sale.
