Geordie Greep cancels five US shows following sexual misconduct allegation

Geordie Greep has cancelled five US shows following an allegation of sexual misconduct, which he denied on stage in Vancouver earlier this week.
The former Black Midi frontman had been due to continue his North American tour with shows in Boise (October 9), Salt Lake City (October 10), Boulder (October 12), Denver (October 13) and Omaha (October 14), but all five have now been cancelled.
At the time of writing, only one US date, in Des Moines on October 15, remains listed and on sale. A European run also remains scheduled to begin in Nijmegen on November 1, with further shows advertised in France, Spain and Portugal throughout the month.
Greep has not issued a public statement about the cancellations.
They come after he responded on stage to an allegation of sexual misconduct at The Pearl in Vancouver on Thursday (October 8).
Ahead of that show, an attendee distributed flyers reading “Geordie Greep A Rapist” and “You know what you did this morning Oct 8th”. The flyer did not provide further details about the allegation.
Greep eventually took to the stage without his backing band and addressed the crowd directly, saying he had been at a house party following a night out with members of his touring party.

“Essentially, what happened last night, [was that] me and some of the band went out to some bars, we went out, we met people, and it ended up in a situation really late at a house party,” he said.
“I got the wrong end of the stick with someone who was there, and I made a move, and it didn’t come off. I really quickly apologised, and it was a complete misunderstanding on my part, and I felt extremely bad, I feel extremely sorry, and extremely upset about the situation.
“I would never rape a woman. I’m not a rapist. It’s not how that went down.”
He went on to explain why he was performing alone, saying: “It’s a very strange thing to have happened and a very scary thing, so all of the band, I understand that I didn’t want to force them to still play a show in the light of that happening.
“We were unsure what the response would be to all this, and I can only tell you that it’s OK if people want refunds, if they want to leave, it’s fine.”
Greep also said the proceeds from the Vancouver show would be donated to an anti-violence organisation in British Columbia.
“I just wanted to be transparent with you about what happened,” he continued. “I’m very, very, very sorry; I made someone uncomfortable without meaning to. It’s not a good thing, it’s not good.”
He then performed a shortened solo set.
Greep launched his solo career following Black Midi’s “indefinite” split in 2024, releasing his debut album ‘The New Sound’ later that year.
