Najib thanks supporters offering help with RM50mil pardon condition

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak thanked Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Umno and Barisan Nasional leaders and members, as well as Malaysians who have offered to help meet the RM50 million condition attached to his conditional pardon.

His lawyers, Messrs Shafee & Co, said, however, that Najib did not want the party, its members and supporters, or the public to feel "burdened or obliged" to assist him.

"He remains profoundly grateful to those who, entirely of their own free will and according to their respective means, have chosen to offer their support and assistance," they said in a statement.
