JISOO Announces ‘Sun Showers,’ New Song for ‘The Angry Birds Movie 3’

“Sun Showers” will be here soon from JISOO, who’s contributing the original song to The Angry Birds Movie 3 soundtrack.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news Tuesday (Nov. 3), revealing that “Sun Showers” the song is expected to be featured in the film, hitting theaters on Dec. 3, and its trailer, which should arrive soon.

The new track was co-written by the K-pop star, and its artwork will feature a special, personal touch: “Shumon,” a small dustball character JISOO drew when she was in middle school.

“I’m so happy to be part of The Angry Birds Movie 3,” the singer, a member of BLACKPINK, toldTHR. “I’ve always loved how the films bring together such colorful characters, humor and heart. With ‘Sun Showers,’ I wanted to capture the movie’s playful and bright energy through a fun, feel-good song that makes people want to smile and dance along.”

She added, “I really hope everyone will enjoy hearing it when they see the film over the holidays.”

JISOO says the process of creating a song for an animated film has been “deeply meaningful.”

The Angry Birds Movie 3 , directed by John Rice, has an all-star voice cast in place, including Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Emma Myers, Rachel Bloom, Walker Scobell, Danny McBride, Marcello Hernández, Tim Robinson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, MrBeast, Salish Matter, Psalm West, Sam Richardson and James Austin Johnson, Lily James and Keke Palmer.

The premise of the latest installment in the Angry Birds franchise: “This holiday season, one angry bird will face his greatest challenge yet, surviving fatherhood… while saving the world!”

JISOO recently dropped the single “Click,” which arrived in September, followed by “Addicted” in October.
