Gobernador ng Quirino na si Dax Cua, pumanaw sa edad na 48

Pumanaw sa edad na 48 ang gobernador ng lalawigan ng Quirino na si Dakila Carlo “Dax” Cua, ayon sa isang post ng Kamara de Representantes nitong Miyerkoles.

Nitong Martes, nagkaroon ng mga ulat tungkol sa pagpanaw ni Cua na kinumpirma ng Kamara at iba pang organisasyon ngayong araw.

Dati ring nagsilbing kongresista si Cua, mula ika-15 hanggang ika-17 Kongreso bilang kinatawan ng nag-iisang distrito ng lalawigan.

“We remember Governor Dax for his years of dedicated public service and his commitment to the people of Quirino and to strengthening local governance in the Philippines and across the Asia-Pacific region,” saad post ng Kamara sa X.

Nagsilbi rin si Cua bilang presidente ng Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP), at United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC).

Sa isang Facebook post, ipinagluluksa rin ng UCLG ASPAC ang pagpanaw ni Cua.

“As we bid farewell to a remarkable leader, we also celebrate a life of service and leadership. We believe that his legacy will continue to guide and inspire our work, and that his contributions will live on through the efforts of local governments across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond,” ayon sa UCLG ASPAC.

Hindi binanggit ng pamilya ni Cua ang dahilan ng pagkamatay ng gobernador.

Naging bise gobernador din ng lalawigan si Cua sa loob ng anim na taon bago siya nahalal sa mas mataas na posisyon ng lalawigan.

Sa kaniyang mga taon bilang kongresista, pinamunuan ni Cua ang House Committees on Ecology at Ways and Means. Isa siya sa mga pangunahing may-akda ng Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Act.

Siya rin ang may-akda ng Rice Tariffication Act, Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act, at Philippine Competition Act.

Bukod sa pagiging pangulo ng ULAP, nagsilbi rin si Cua bilang national chairman ng League of Provinces of the Philippines.— FRJ GMA News
