Peak Design, best known for its backpacks and travel bags packed full of useful features, announced it’s expanding its collection of chargers and charging accessories with new devices that focus on pairing premium materials with innovative functionality. “Somewhere along the way, we accepted that the electronics we use every day should be cheap, disposable and just good enough,” says Peter Dering, Peak Design’s CEO and founder. “We didn’t set out to make another collection of chargers and cables. We set out to show just how much better these everyday products could be.”

The $99.95 Peak Design Wireless Kickstand Travel Battery, available in a black or moon (cream) finish, wraps a 5,000mAh battery in a magnetic housing made from machined anodized aluminum with a matching folding kickstand. The company describes it as the “world’s first Qi2.3-certified wireless charger,” which is the latest iteration of the Qi2 spec. Most 5,000mAh battery cells can’t safely wirelessly charge a device at 25W. It’s a feature that’s more common with batteries with at least a 10,000mAh capacity. But by supporting Qi2.3, Peak Design’s new travel battery can wirelessly charge a compatible device at 25W while it’s connected to a USB power source. On battery power alone, its wireless charging speed maxes out at 15W.

Peak Design’s $99.95 Wireless Charging Station 2-in-1, available in the same color options as its new travel battery, is a Qi2.2-compatible accessory featuring a pair of 25W wireless charging pads that can be used simultaneously at full power. One of the pads is on the charger’s base that’s made from die-cast aluminum and zinc, while the other is attached to an adjustable arm that folds flat so the charging station is easier to travel with.

Neither of the new wireless chargers comes with an adapter, but you can pair them with Peak Design’s new $64.95 Dual Slim Charger that uses GaN technology so it’s just a half-inch thick but delivers up to 65W of power through a pair of USB-C ports. They’re joined by an assortment of new Peak Design USB-C UltraStrand Cables ranging from $24.95 to $39.95. The cables are available in lengths ranging from 15 centimeters to 2 meters for a 60W / 480Mbps version, or 15 centimeters to a meter for the 240W / 40Gbps option.

Most of the new chargers and accessories are available starting today, but the Wireless Kickstand Travel Battery and certain lengths of the UltraStrand USB-C cables will be available a few days later on November 5th.
