ScreenRant: We're really excited for Severance season 3, can you say how different you think it's going to be from season 2?

Zach Cherry: I think it will be different. I think season 2 is quite different than season 1 and I think season 3 will also be different. But I'm very, very, very excited.

The idea that each season of Severance will feel different also aligns with recent comments from Apple TV executives. Matt Cherniss previously teased that the Apple TV series' third season would deliver on the scale of the first two installments while becoming even bigger. His comments have added to expectations that the series will continue expanding its story rather than narrowing its focus.

That could be particularly important following season 2's dramatic finale, which left Mark S. and Helly R. facing the consequences of their decisions inside Lumon.

The show has also developed a reputation for blending genres without losing its identity. What began as a dystopian workplace mystery has gradually incorporated elements of psychological drama, dark satire, conspiracy thriller, and surreal science fiction. Its Kafkaesque corporate setting and layered storytelling have even prompted comparisons to the work of Franz Kafka and filmmaker Christopher Nolan.
