UNICEF, Zamfara to improve healthcare access for less-privileged

The Zamfara State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (ZAMCHEMA), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have agreed to collaborate to improve access to quality healthcare services for vulnerable populations across the state.

The executive secretary of the agency, Zainab Muhammad Hassan, revealed this when she received the representatives of UNICEF on a courtesy visit to the agency on Monday.

During the meeting, the two parties focused attention on exploring practical strategies to address the healthcare challenges confronting vulnerable communities and identifying areas where stronger partnerships and interventions can provide the needed support to those most in need.

The ES reaffirmed ZAMCHEMA’s commitment to improving the wellbeing of the people in Zamfara State.

She emphasised that the agency remained committed to working closely with relevant stakeholders and development partners, including UNICEF, to strengthen healthcare coverage and ensure that vulnerable populations had access to essential healthcare services.

Ms Hassan further stressed the importance of sustained partnerships and coordinated efforts in addressing healthcare challenges and improving health outcomes across the state.
