Dungeon Crawler Carl: Princess Donut Officially Releases November 2026

Since the first book in the LitRPG series by Matt Dinniman, Dungeon Crawler Carl, was published back in 2020, the franchise has quickly turned into a cultural phenomenon. Now with eight books now published after being acquired by Ace Books back in 2024, the franchise has gone from strength to strength. So much so, that Peacock announced that a television adaptation is currently in production.

The story itself follows Carl, a man who is joined by his ex-girlfriend's cat, Princess Donut, as two of the few survivors left after all of the Earth's resources fall under the control of an alien organization. As such, the unlikely duo are forced to partake in a dungeon crawl inspired by an intergalactic reality show program.

On top of an upcoming television adaptation, the Dungeon Crawler Carl franchise has also gone on to inspire graphic novels, a card game, and a tabletop role-playing game, and it is the latter, Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable, that welcomes hours of fun for fans of the LitRPG extravaganza.

Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable is a co-op or solo card-crafting, deck-building board game based on the hit series. Published by Renegade Game Studios, it tasks players with fighting through multi-level dungeons as both Carl and Princess Donut, with cards allowing you upgrade your abilities and powers, as well as increasing the threats of the enemies and bosses you fight along the way. Set to launch this November, this card game experience is available for pre-order now.
