Imagine trying to reconnect with an old friend when the lights in the city suddenly go out, people randomly start disappearing, and you see something looming in the sky. To top it off, the only thing you have to defend yourself with is an old rifle. Sounds like quite the survival experience, right? Well, one Steam game is all about what I just described, but you may want to check it out before its exciting offer ends.

Radiant Exodus is currently available for free on Steam, giving players a chance to add a promising first-person survival horror shooter to their libraries without paying a penny. Developed and published by Horrawr, the game originally launched on May 24, 2025, and wasn’t always available for free. The developers switched it to a free model in August this year to make it available to more players. However, that free access ends in November, according to a recent announcement.

Radiant Exodus Is Free To Claim On Steam Right Now

Radiant Exodus will return to a paid model on November 17. Until then, you can still claim the game for free, so add it to your Steam library as soon as possible. There’s also a demo version if you’d like to try it first, but considering the full game is currently free, you could just download that instead.

The game’s initial version, released in 2025, was priced at $4.99. The developers haven’t revealed the price it will carry after the November 17 deadline, but it’s safe to assume it could be around its original $5 price tag.

What Is Radiant Exodus About?

Radiant Exodus follows Sarah Caldwell, a former soldier who finds herself caught in a terrifying situation after strange lights appear in the sky and Gleam City descends into chaos. People disappear, the streets become dangerous, and Sarah’s search for her missing father turns into a fight to survive.

The story revolves around the Exodus Project, an experiment intended to create stronger humans and build a better future. Something goes horribly wrong, however, and the project becomes tied to the disaster unfolding around Sarah.

As a player, you must explore the ruined city, fight hostile enemies, and uncover clues about what happened. Notes, transmissions, and other discoveries help piece together the mystery as the story progresses. Radiant Exodus is a linear, single-player action horror shooter. Rather than offering a massive open world, it focuses on a more direct campaign built around combat, exploration, and story progression.

Radiant Exodus currently boasts a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 88% of 52 reviewers recommending the game. Players have praised it as a short and sweet experience with good mechanics and few bugs. That said, some reviews also suggest that its appeal largely comes from being free. A few players pointed out that $5 might be too much to pay for a game that can be completed in an hour or less.

If you enjoy first-person shooters with horror elements, limited resources, and a story-driven campaign, Radiant Exodus is worth a look. Just make sure you claim it before the free period on Steam ends. Its player reviews are encouraging, although the relatively small number of ratings means they shouldn’t be treated as a guarantee of quality.
