Multiple sources in Italy claim that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio will leave the Nerazzurri at the end of the season as the two parties have not agreed to a new contract.

Inter director Ausilio is expected to leave the Nerazzurri at the end of the current campaign, according to several Italian sources, including Gazzetta, Corriere della Sera and Sky Sport Italia.

Ausilio’s contract with the Nerazzurri runs out in June 2027, and the two parties have failed to reach an agreement to extend it.

Ausilio joined Inter in 1997, initially serving as the secretary of the youth sector when the club was owned by Massimo Moratti. In December 2010, he became the Nerazzurri’s sporting director, a role he has retained until this season.

Corriere della Sera reports that Ausilio found Inter‘s contract extension offer disrespectful, as he received a proposal for just one more year, until June 2028, with a slight pay rise from €1.3m to €1.4m plus add-ons.

Inter owners are described as ‘surprised’ by Ausilio’s decision, and, according to Corriere, the Italian director has not received any offers from other clubs as of today.

Sky Sport adds that Ausilio’s departure before the end of his contract can’t be ruled out, stressing that any such exit before the end of the season would be by mutual consent.
