The Vampire Lestat Returns With Exciting New Release This November

The Vampire Lestat is finally receiving a home video release from AMC Studios soon.

AMC Studios has shared the official details for the upcoming Blu-ray and DVD release of The Vampire Lestat. This follows the Sam Reid-centered season of Interview with the Vampire, which concluded its run last July 19 on AMC. Reviews for The Vampire Lestat praised its bold tone shift, refreshing adaptation of Anne Rice’s iconic 1985 novel, and Reid’s magnetic portrayal.

According to a new listing from Blu-ray.com, the full season of The Vampire Lestat will be released as a three-disc set on Blu-ray and DVD, starting on November 3. The Blu-ray and DVD releases are now available for pre-order on Amazon for $24.99 and $19.99, respectively. The home video release will also include lots of exciting special features, along with optional English, Spanish, and French subtitles.

The Vampire Lestat was the third installment in AMC Studios’ acclaimed TV adaptation of Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles book series. The new season shifted the story’s focus towards Lestat as he deals with the aftermath of Louis and Daniel Molloy’s tell-all book. The legendary vampire is reintroduced as a rockstar going on tour with his human band.

Joining him on tour is Daniel, who’s giving him a chance to tell his side of the story through a documentary. Throughout the season, Lestat’s popularity continues to grow, making him a powerful influence in the face of the Great Conversion.

Besides Reid, The Vampire Lestat also starred Jacob Anderson as Louis, Assad Zaman as Armand, Eric Bogosian as Daniel, Delainey Hayles as Claudia, and Jennifer Ehle as Gabriella. They were joined by notable guest stars Sheila Atim as Akasha, Christopher Heyerdahl as Marius, and Damien Atkins as Magnus.

Season 3 was executive-produced by creator and showrunner Rolin Jones, alongside Mark Johnson, Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice. Like previous installments, The Vampire Lestat also earned a high 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Due to its continued success, Interview with the Vampire has once again been renewed for another season. Now titled Anne Rice’s The Queen of the Damned, season 4 will be led by Atim, who reprises her role as the mother of all vampires, Akasha. She has starred in several hit movies, such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Woman King, Mufasa: The Lion King, and Dust Bunny. Atim is also best known for her award-winning roles in stage plays, including Girl from the North and Constellations.

Despite the lead change, Reid, Anderson, Zaman, and Bogosian are all expected to return for the new installment. Season 4 will be based on Rice’s 1988 novel of the same name. It was originally adapted into a film in 2002, with the late R&B superstar Aaliyah taking on the title role. At the time of writing, the release date for Anne Rice’s The Queen of the Damned remains under wraps.

While waiting for its Blu-ray release, The Vampire Lestat is available to stream on AMC+.
