Carlos Alcaraz ha difeso il titolo del torneo Atp 500 di Tokyo, il primo a cui partecipava dal rientro dopo l'assenza per l'infortunio al polso destro subito a fine agosto agli US Open. Nella capitale giapponese aveva vinto già nel 2025. Lo spagnolo, attuale numero 3 del mondo, in finale ha sconfitto il ceco Jiri Lehecka (n. 19) con il punteggio di 7-6 (7/4), 6-4. L'ultimo titolo di Alcaraz risaliva all'Atp 500 di Doha, a metà febbraio. A Tokyo ha disputato la sua prima finale dall'aprile scorso, quando perse contro Jannik Sinner al Masters 1000 di Montecarlo.
