Full list: This week’s eight Betway Premiership fixtures

The Betway Premiership action gets underway on Thursday evening when Orlando Pirates host Durban City FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena. The Buccaneers will be looking for three points on home soil as they continue their push near the top of the table.

There will be no league action on Friday before the competition resumes with three matches on Saturday. Richards Bay FC will welcome Sekhukhune United FC to the Richards Bay Stadium, while Polokwane City FC face AmaZulu FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The final Saturday fixture will see Kruger United FC take on Stellenbosch FC. Both sides will be hoping to collect maximum points as the early league standings continue to take shape.

WHICH BETWAY PREMIERSHIP FIXTURES ARE COMING UP?

Sunday will bring four matches, including an important fixture for Kaizer Chiefs. Lamontville Golden Arrows will host Kaizer Chiefs, with the match taking place at Mbombela Stadium.

The Kaizer Chiefs fixture will be played at Mbombela Stadium, not Princess Magogo Stadium as previously stated. Supporters should take note of the venue correction when making their plans for Sunday’s match.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Milford FC will face Durban City FC, while Marumo Gallants FC will welcome Orlando Pirates. TS Galaxy FC will then close out the weekend when they host Chippa United FC at the Kameelrivier Stadium.

WHY IS THIS WEEKEND IMPORTANT?

The eight fixtures will provide another opportunity for teams to build momentum in the Betway Premiership. Orlando Pirates face two league matches during the period, while Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to return from their trip to Mbombela with an important result.

The weekend should also provide a clearer picture of the early league standings as teams continue to find their rhythm in the new campaign. Meanwhile, last week produced 16 goals.

HOW DID THE 2025/26 BETWAY PREMIERSHIP SEASON END?

Orlando Pirates were crowned 2025/26 Betway Premiership champions after finishing top of the table with 69 points.

The title ended Orlando Pirates’ 14 year wait for league glory and brought Mamelodi Sundowns’ incredible run of eight consecutive league titles to an end.

Orlando Pirates sealed the championship on the final matchday with a 2-0 victory over Orbit College at Mbombela Stadium. They finished two points ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns in second place.

The triumph completed a remarkable domestic treble for Orlando Pirates, who had already won the MTN8 and Carling Knockout during the campaign.

Kaizer Chiefs enjoyed a much improved season and finished third with 54 points. The result secured their return to the MTN8 and qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.

At the other end of the table, Orbit College finished 16th and suffered automatic relegation after their first season in the top flight. Magesi FC also went down after finishing 15th and subsequently losing the promotion and relegation playoffs.

WHO STOOD OUT DURING THE SEASON?

Lamontville Golden Arrows striker Sede Dion finished as the league’s top scorer with 14 goals. Mamelodi Sundowns forward Iqraam Rayners followed with 12 goals.

Orlando Pirates youngster Relebohile Mofokeng also enjoyed an impressive campaign. He scored 10 league goals and finished joint top for assists with eight, alongside teammate Deon Hotto.

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine was another key figure in the title-winning campaign. He played every minute of the league season and kept 21 clean sheets, helping the Buccaneers finish the campaign as champions.
