PN to decide on disciplinary action against Bersatu after Melaka polls

Perikatan Nasional will decide whether to take disciplinary action against Bersatu after the Melaka state election.
PN chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said the coalition had received complaints from component parties concerning Bersatu’s conduct.
“We will discuss them at our supreme council meeting.
“We will act based on the facts presented, not on sentiments,” he told reporters after visiting PN’s operations room in Kesidang today.
Samsuri said the complaints concerned events before and after the Negeri Sembilan state election in August.
However, he declined to elaborate further.
PN secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan had previously said the coalition would take disciplinary action against Bersatu for allegedly violating its constitution, including by contesting against PN in the Negeri Sembilan election.
He also said charges would be drawn up against the party and that Bersatu would be given sufficient time to defend itself.
Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin had described PN’s plan to take disciplinary action against the party as “strange and absurd”, insisting that Bersatu had not breached any rules.
Muhyiddin also pointed out that Bersatu had reported alleged violations by PAS within PN to the Registrar of Societies (RoS), which had since taken action.
PN was suspended by the RoS in late September before being deregistered on Oct 20 following a complaint by Bersatu against the coalition’s leadership.
