BANGKOK – Thailand has banned public gatherings that obstruct access or disrupt operations at 24 venues hosting events and delegates during the 2026 annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group.

The announcement was published in the Royal Gazette on 11 October, ahead of the meetings scheduled for 12-18 October at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) in Bangkok.

The restrictions cover the convention centre, One Bangkok Forum, where official receptions will be held, and 22 hotels accommodating delegates and dignitaries.

The Metropolitan Police Bureau said the measures prohibit gatherings that block entrances and exits or interfere with the operation of, or access to, the designated venues.

The restrictions took effect on 10 October and will remain in force until 20 October.

Police urged the public and all sectors to cooperate in welcoming delegates from around the world.

Anyone wishing to report suspicious activity or seek traffic information can contact the emergency hotline at 191 or the Traffic Control and Command Centre at 1197, both available around the clock.
