MUMBAI: A CCTV footage showed a speeding BMW crashing through the barrier on Mumbai's Coastal Road and plunging off a bridge into an under-construction parking site early on Sunday, killing three students and critically injuring another.The luxury car was seen travelling at high speed before it fell from the bridge and crash-landed at the construction site. The vehicle was heavily damaged.Police suspect the car was being driven at high speed when the driver allegedly failed to negotiate a turn near Lotus Jetty, opposite Lala Lajpatrai College."The car was at a high speed. The driver couldn't understand the turn and crashed into the outer railing, following which the car plunged from the bridge," police said.

The incident occurred at around 5.20am when the BMW was travelling from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali.All four occupants were rushed to the nearby civic-run Nair Hospital, where three were declared dead.The deceased were identified as Shanaya Gajjal, 21, Aditya Jakasania, 20, and Dhirya Seth, 17. The fourth occupant, an unidentified man aged around 20, sustained severe injuries and was admitted to the hospital's trauma ward in critical condition, police said.

Shanaya Gajjal and Aditya Jakasania were students of a management college in Juhu, while Dhirya Seth studied at a college in Kurla, police said.All four students were originally from Ahmedabad in Gujarat, according to police. Police said the BMW belonged to Gajjal's family.
