Heavy rains expected in parts of Luzon until Sunday, Sept. 6 – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Heavy rainfall due to the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, is expected over parts of Luzon until Sunday, September 6, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its 5 a.m. three-day weather advisory, Pagasa said the following areas may experience these respective amounts of rainfall over the weekend:

In the agency’s 5 a.m. forecast, Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina explained that the southwest monsoon usually causes rains in the western section of the country until the first half of October.

“So, ngayong buwan ng September, asahan pa rin natin yung mga pag-ulan na dala ng habagat, lalong-lalo na itong western section ng Luzon,” he added.
