EastEnders' Aaron Thiara teases surprising Ravi Gulati reaction for when Priya's baby paternity is revealed

Actor Aaron Thiara has teased an unexpected twist for his character Ravi Gulati in EastEnders.
The BBC One soap has seen Ravi learn that his partner Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) had an affair with her boss Max Branning (Jake Wood) during their separation, but now believes that she is pregnant with his own child.
However, Priya and viewers know from a DNA test that the child is actually the biological offspring of Max.
Speaking to Radio Times on the red carpet of the National Television Awards 2026, where he was nominated for his performance in the soap this year, Thiara revealed that events may not go the way we expect.

Thiara teased: "I suppose in EastEnders fashion, he has to find [out] at some point, because that's where the drama's going to be.
"Look, I think we've probably seen where he reacts quite impulsively and does what he knows by taking Max hostage and questioning him; that aired last week. That feels very much like Ravi of old.
"Maybe this way, if it does come out, we will see a more heartfelt, vulnerable, heartbroken encounter, which is nice because you know we want to see different layers, light and shade."

When we suggested that perhaps viewers might not be getting the dark revenge that Ravi would typically pursue, Thiara's friend and co-star James Farrar, who plays Zack Hudson, hoped that would be the case.
Farrar revealed that he thinks "what Aaron has brought to the role is just everyone in life. I think the most important, the most interesting people are contradictions, you know? And that's what I love watching. Ravi Gulati, he's created a fantastic character there."
Of course, many fans will be aware that Thiara is tipped to be leaving the soap in the coming months, but this has yet to be confirmed by the actor or the BBC.
